

According to TVLine, the House of the Dragon cast is expanding for season three. Several new faces will be joining the cast in the upcoming season.
English actor Barry Sloane (The Sandman, Revenge) will be taking on the role of Ser Adrian Redfort, a knight from Rhaenyra Targaryen’s Queensguard. Welsh actor Tom Cullen (Castle in the Ground, Weekend) will play the role of Ser Luthor Largent, a former commander of the Gold Cloaks. English actor Joplin Sibtain (Memory Man, Andor) will be taking on the role of Ser ‘Bold’ Jon Roxton, a knight and head of House Roxton, as per TVLine.
According to TVLine, these actors join several other new additions, including Scottish actor Tommy Flanagan (Sons of Anarchy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2) as Ser Roderick Dustin, Lord of Barrowtown and head of House Dustin, American actor Dan Fogler (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Balls of Fury) as Ser Torrhen Manderly, a knight and second son of Lord Desmond Manderly, and English actor James Norton (Little Women, Happy Valley) as Ormund Hightower, a nephew of Otto Hightower.
These new actors join Matt Smith (Doctor Who, The Crown), Emma D’Arcy (Mothering Sunday, The Talent), and Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl), who will be reprising their pivotal roles as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, and Queen Alicent Hightower respectively.
House of the Dragon was renewed for season three prior to the release of season two. Showrunner Ryan Condal has stated, according to TVLine, that the show will cap off at just four seasons, half as long as Game of Thrones.
In a post from HBO Max’s official Twitter, D’Arcy, in full costume, announces that production on season three of the Emmy-winning series officially began March 31, 2025. So far, there is no release date for the upcoming season.
