Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow star Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon, Upright), The White Lotus alum Meghann Fahy (The Bold Type, The Perfect Couple) and Mary & George star Julianne Moore (May December, Hannibal) have been added to the cast of Netflix’s newest limited series Sirens, which is created by Molly Smith Metzler (Maid, Shameless), Comicbook.com reports. The news was released on Monday from the streaming platform. This series is made from Metzler’s exclusive deal with the streamer and is based on her play Elemeno Pea.
According to Comicbook.com, the show will focus on the character of Devon, played by Fahy. She is concerned about her sister Simone, played by Alcock, and her well-being. Simone is currently in a relationship with her employer, Michaela Kell, who is portrayed by Moore. The employer’s lifestyle is something that Simone can’t get enough of, so Devon believes it’s time to stop this relationship. Furthermore, when Devon finds her sister, she realizes that Michaela is someone you wouldn’t want to have as an enemy, as she makes Devon’s life miserable. The series is set in a beach estate that is the property of Michaela Kell, and it’s a dark comedy that shows how women’s lives can be changed by class and society standards.
According to Comicbook.com, Sirens has Tom Ackerley (Promising Young Woman, I, Tonya), Dani Gorin (Pachinko, The Morning Show), Margot Robbie (Barbie, Suicide Squad) and Nicole Kassell (The Watchmen, Baby) as executive producers. Kassell will also direct the series.
Furthermore, according to Comicbook.com, this news comes after the announcement that Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will begin filming in late 2024 and aim to be released on June 26, 2026.
