Henry Ian Cusick Confirms His Exit From ‘The 100’

During the CW’s latest The 100 episode, “What You Take With You,” audiences watched each other say their final goodbyes to actor Henry Ian Cusick —known as the character Marcus Kane— in his last official appearance in the series. In the episode’s final moments, Abby (Paige Turco) tearfully comes to terms with Marcus no longer being her longtime lover, as his consciousness is placed in a different body.

Cusick is primarily known for his role as Desmond Hume in ABC’s critival hit and darling, Lost, which he received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for his work on the series. He also starred as Stephen Finch in ABC’s political thriller Scandal and as Dr. Jonas Lear in Fox’s The Passage, the latter of which was recently cancelled.

Cusick commented on his departure via Twitter:

The 100‘s showrunner, Jason Rothenberg, also had a few words to say:

Despite his exit from the series, Cusick was recently reported as joining the cast of MacGyver’s upcoming fourth season in the series regular role of Russ— a ruggedly handsome and intelligent ex-military agent.

Sources have described his character as “a master manipulator and salesman, Russ is skilled in propaganda and lie detection, and boasts an extremely high emotional intelligence. He is also very wealthy, and thus is used to both getting his way and enjoying the spoils of war (including expensive suits, fast cars, private jets and a house in Monte Carlo).” So far, CBS has not confirmed MacGyver‘s fourth season premiere date.
