HBO is taking your interaction with Westworld to an even higher level at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference and Festival in Austin, TX. In an exclusive and immersive experience, HBO is creating an entire world from their hit show for fans to tour touted as the Live Without Limits Experience.
The Westworld “theme park” will only be open for a limited time of March 9 through 11 where fans can visit unique locations as well as The Corondao Hotel and Mariposa Saloon on over two acres of land. View the sneak preview released by HBO:
Fans who are attending SXSW can visit DiscoverWestworld for ever-changing updates about the project and tickets. The first wave is already sold out but the site advises to follow @westworldhbo for the next ticket release.
For those lucky enough to get signed up, guests will report to Austin’s EastSide Tavern where a Delos Shuttle will transport them to Sweetwater, the main area of Westworld. Attendees will receive a white or black hat upon arrival with no guidebook and no orientation. After the two hour experience, the Shuttle will return visitors to the EastSide Tavern.
Guests will search for season 2 clues and interact with natives of Sweetwater who will provide hints if asked the right question. Samples of western-themed food and drink will be available to all attendees who must be 21+ to enter.
As part of an even more exclusive immersion, Delta Airlines has teamed up with HBO for special Westworld themed flights. Those flying out of LAX will be greeted by Delos staff and Sweetwater residents. Flyers will then receive drinks, the black or white hat, and an invitation to the Live Without Limits Experience in Austin. The invite-only flight will occur on Friday, March 9.
Attendees at SXSW will have the opportunity to hear first hand from series co-creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy as well as cast members Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright and James Marsden. The Featured Session will take place Saturday, March 10 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Austin Convention Center, Room D.
Season 2 of Westworld premieres on HBO, Sunday, April 22.
