HBO Says ‘Euphoria’ Season Three Trailer Draws Record 100M Views in First 48 Hours

Deadline asserts that Euphoria is demonstrating that its cultural hold hasn’t at all diminished following a four-year hiatus. The Season Three video had around 100 million views in its first 48 hours, according to HBO, making it the largest original series trailer debut in HBO Max history for that period. The milestone indicates that there is a great deal of excitement for the drama’s comeback before its April launch.

As stated by Deadline, while HBO did not specify which show previously held the record, Deadline notes that the network has highlighted major trailer successes before. The Last of Us Season Two amassed 158 million views over three days, while Game of Thrones set a benchmark in 2019 with 81 million views in 24 hours. Even so, Euphoria’s performance places it firmly among HBO’s most powerful franchises.

Since debuting, the Sam Levinson created series has grown into one of HBO’s most-watched titles ever, fueled in part by the rise of its cast. Zendaya (Dune, Challengers), who leads the series as Rue Bennett, anchors a lineup that also includes Sydney Sweeney (Anyone But You, Reality), Jacob Elordi (Saltburn, Priscilla), Hunter Schafer (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Kinds of Kindness), Alexa Demie (Mid90s, Waves), and Maude Apatow (Little Shop of Horrors, Hollywood), all of whom return for Season Three, per Deadline.

According to Deadline, HBO previously revealed that the Season Two finale attracted a series-high 6.6 million viewers across all platforms, a notable increase over prior episodes and significantly more than the Season One finale. Deadline added that the show’s appeal has only grown as its cast has developed into a group of legitimate film stars.

Per Deadline, Season Three is expected to be the show’s final chapter, with the story jumping forward several years beyond high school. Creator Sam Levinson (Malcolm & Marie, Assassination Nation) has described the new season as focusing on adulthood and life without the safety net of school. New cast members join the ensemble as the narrative expands, with the long-awaited season debuting April 12 at 9 p.m. on HBO, and streaming on HBO Max.
