The HBO series The Last of Us adapted from the game will bring about some significant differences between the brother’s Henry and Sam, who start in the original game’s storyline, according to IGN.
The actors portraying the series’ characters have been revealed to IGN. Lamar Johnson (Kings) will play Henry, and Keivonn Woodard (Seeds of Hope : The Andrew Jackson Foster Story) will portray his younger brother Sam. The series will also have guest stars Graham Greene (Dances With Wolves) and Elaine Miles (Fishing Naked) as characters Marlon and Florence, according to IGN.
In the original game, Henry and Sam meet characters Joel played by Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian), and Ellie, portrayed by Bella Ramsey (The Worst Witch), in Pittsburgh. Still, in the series, the brother’s Henry and Sam will meet Joel and Ellie in Kansas City instead of Pittsburgh on the hideout from “revolutionary movement seeking vengeance,” according to IGN.
Other than the setting swap, Pascal told IGN that he is confident that the series can live up to the original game’s storyline. Alongside the original plot, the characters that play Marlon and Florence are said to be a married couple trying to survive in the post-apocalyptic world of Wyoming.
The series has been revealing more characters and plot as its expected release date is 2023. Viewers can expect to see Gabriel Luna (Terminator : Dark Fate) on the screen as well as Tommy, Joel’s brother, according to IGN.
Stay tuned to the information about The Last of Us being spilled out as two new additional characters to the series have yet to be announced, according to IGN.
