According to TVLine, HBO has revealed the official trailer for Kate Winslet’s (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Titanic) new limited series The Regime. The series is scheduled to air on the network on the third of March and will have six episodes.

According to TVLine, Winslet will star in the series as the chancellor of a European country who has quite a disconnect from reality and tries to keep everything under control. In the series, she will meet an American envoy who offers her character their full support but also states that they want the chancellor to demonstrate credibility and trustworthiness. The series follows the fall of a European regime and its inhabitants under modern authoritarian rule and how it unravels.
Other than Winslet the series cast includes Andrea Riseborough (Amsterdam, Alice & Jack), Hugh Grant (About a Boy, Nothing Hill), Martha Plimpton (A Town Called Malice, Raising Hope), Matthias Schoenaerts (The Danish Girl, Bullhead), Guillaume Gallienne (Me, Myself and Mum, Maryline), Patrick Fusco (Another Life, Quiz), Michael Colgan (Chernobyl, This England), and many others.
Will Tracy (The Menu, Succession) will serve as showrunner and executive producer for the series. Frank Rich (White House Plumbers, Becoming Mike Nichols), Stephen Frears (Dirty Pretty Things, Dangerous Liaisons), Tracey Seaward (The Two Popes, Eastern Promises), Jessica Hobbs (Apple Tree Yard, The Crown), and Winslet will also be executive producing on the series. Seth Reiss (Onion SportsDome, Above Average Presents), Sarah DeLappe (Bodies Bodies Bodies, Cassandra at the Wedding), Gary Shteyngart (Super Sad True Love Story, Lake Success), Jen Spyra (Our Cartoon President, Heads Will Roll), and Juli Weiner (Last Week Tonight with John Oliver) will serve as writers.
The political satire drama series The Regime will be available to stream on Max the same day it airs on HBO.
