HBO Renews ‘Barry’ For a Third Season

Shortly after its second season aired, Barry was picked up for a season three, according to Deadline. The hit comedy series is an Emmy award-winning show created by Alec Berg & Bill Hader.

Season two of Barry premiered March 31. With this season, Barry is trying to get himself out of contract killing and focus more on being an actor. However, as Barry eliminates outside factors that made him more susceptible to violence he finds out those weren’t the only forces pushing him that way. It begs the question of what mentally lead him to killing.

Stephen Root, a handler for Barry, is another cast regular for season two. In the series Root becomes alarmed when he realizes his primary source of income could be jeopardized with Barry’s change of life. Sarah Goldberg plays a determined acting student, who Barry begins to fancy. Henry Winkler plays a boastful yet charming acting teacher, who becomes somewhat of a mentor for Barry.

In its first season Barry earned three Emmys for  lead actor in a comedy series, sound mixing, and supporting actor. The second season is bring produced by Berg and Hader who also star in the series: consulting producer, Liz Sarnoff; producers, Julie Camino, Jason Kim; supervising producer, Emily Heller, and co-executive producer, Aida Rodgers.
