HBO has unveiled the official trailer for the upcoming fourth season of Westworld, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series’ third season, which featured a total of eight episodes, was released in 2020.
Westworld a dystopian society where rich vacationers could visit an amusement park to live out their darkest fantasies through artificial consciousness – with no consequences. The park, which soon resulted in an android uprising, subsequently spilled out into the real world. The forthcoming fourth season has been described as “a dark odyssey about the fate of sentient life on Earth.”
After being delayed several times due to the Covid-19 pandemic, production on the fourth season of Westworld officially wrapped in February 2022. Previous cast members Evan Rachel Wood (Thirteen), Thandiwe Newton (Mission: Impossible II), Ed Harris (Top Gun: Maverick), Jeffrey Wright (The Batman), Tessa Thompson (Men in Black: International), Luke Hemsworth (Thor: Love and Thunder), Aaron Paul (BoJack Horseman) an Angela Sarafyan (A House on the Bayou) will reprise their roles. James Marsden (Hop) was also announced to be reprising his role as Teddy Flood.
Westworld‘s fourth season will premiere on HBO on June 26 and will feature eight episodes.
