HBO released the first promotional poster for the second season of Euphoria, which stars Zendaya Coleman (Spider-Man: No Way Home) and Hunter Schafer (Cuckoo), according to Deadline. The show’s sophomore season will premiere on the streamer on January 9.
Euphoria follows Coleman’s Rue Bennett’s struggle to make sense of her future while attempting to maintain her sobriety from a crippling drug addiction. While she had no plans on remaining sober following her time spent in rehab, Rue eventually befriended Schafer’s Jules Vaughn, who changed everything. The season one finale, which saw Rue and Jules go their separate ways, was succeeded by two special episodes featuring both friends dealing with their respective crises during the holiday season. The official trailer for the upcoming season of Euphoria was released on December 20.
The drama series was nominated for the British Academy Television Award for Best International Programme, and the TCA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Drama. Coleman won a Primetime Emmy Award and a Satellite Award for the category Best Actress in a Drama Series. The newly-released poster can be viewed below.
