The meta take on the entertainment industry finds sitcom has-been actress Cherish prepped to star and executive producer her new series, How’s That. The hook: it’s written entirely by AI, eliminating the issues of writers.
According to the HBO press release, the series cast includes Dan Bucatinsky (Hacks, Scandal), Laura Silverman (Sarah Silverman: Jesus Is Magic, The Sarah Silverman Program), Damian Young (The Adventures of Pete & Pete, Californication) and Tim Bagley (Will & Grace, Strip Mall). Plus John Early (Search Party, 30 Rock), Ella Stiller (Hubie Halloween, Escape at Dannemore), Jack O’Brien, Matt Cook (Man with a Plan, The Greatest Beer Run Ever), Zane Phillips (Fire Island, Madam Secretary) Julia Stern (The Mama and Kenn Show), Brittany O’Grady (Star, In Our Blood), Abbi Jacobson (Broad City, Bob’s Burgers), Tony Macht (Dying for Sex, Black Rabbit) and Andrew Scott (All of Us Strangers, Spectre).

The series originally premiered in 2005 for 13 episodes before being canceled. Nine years later, it was revived for an eight-episode run. Kurdow earned two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for the role.
The Comeback premieres Sunday, March 22 at 10:30 p.m. ET and will be available to stream on HBO Max.
