After the deaths of mother and daughter Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher last week, HBO has announced that they are moving up the premiere date of Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. The documentary, which follows the relationship between the two, will now air this coming Saturday, Jan. 7, at 8 p.m., according to a press release from HBO.
Bright Lights has already received acclaim from the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, the Telluride Film Festival and The New York Film Festival.
According to the press release, the documentary will focus on the close relationship between Fisher and Reynolds as the two lived in the same compound in Beverly Hills. The documentary will have both home video shots and scenes with both Fisher and Reynolds.
The trailer, which was released this morning, can be viewed below.
Fisher memorably gave the introduction for her mother’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards, where viewers were able to see the close bond between the two of them during Reynolds’ speech.
Since the two women died a day apart, there will be a joint funeral that takes place on Friday.
Bright Lights airs Saturday, Jan. 7 at 8 p.m. on HBO.
