It’s an exciting day for DC fans as HBO Max’s Titans has recently tweeted a new image showing off their version of Blackfire (Damris Lewis, Pose) for season three, according to ComicBook. The Titans have faced off against some serious threats so far but Blackfire offers a whole new vendetta against the team considering she is the first-born princess in Starfire’s (Anna Diop, Us) bloodline. Being Starfire’s sister means she is gifted with all the same abilities Starfire has and maybe even more since she has had more time to practice them. Check out the image below to see Blackfire’s new suit and her concept art:

As fans can see from the picture above, Blackfire emits a different energy flame than Starfire. Blackfire’s energy will be depicted with a bright purple glow as she has been shown to have in past iterations like the animated Teen Titans show that aired on Cartoon Network. Blackfire usually has a competitive streak with Starfire and the two of them have come to quarrel in the past. Watch the video below to see Starfire and Blackfire skirmish in Teen Titans, both characters voiced by voice acting veteran Hynden Walch (Princess Bubblegum, Adventure Time.)
Blackfire was created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez in 1982. With a relatively short comic history, it will be interesting to see how Titans will handle her character. In the past Blackfire has always been able to scheme her way past certain obstacles with her wit and charm. If charm doesn’t work, she also has super strength, ultraviolet radiation manipulation, enhanced durability, and even some powers fans haven’t seen before like her ability to manipulate others using a small purple substance. This could be a power that Titans has added to her repertoire or something else entirely, fans will have to stay tuned and watch season three to find out more.
