HBO Max has been working on a new crime drama series called American Blue. The series has begun with the casting process and has acquired four actors for the series. The actors are Paulina Olszynski (9-1-1, RJ Decker), Algee Smith (The Gates, Solar Opposites), Jermey Bobb (Eugene the Marine, Goverment Cheese), and Rich Sommer (American Schemers, Single Car Crashes).
For those who don’t know, is a series that follows native son Brian “Milk” Milkovich who has returned to his hometown of Joliet, Illinois. Brian returns home to rescue a beleaguered police force while he is seeking redemption of his own. According to Deadline, Olyszynski will play Lisa ‘Matty’ Matichak, a patrol officer and mom to a child with special needs, and is determined to push through her daily challenges with Midwestern grit and a smile. Smith will play Andre Quick, a rookie patrol officer, a go-getter, whose family connections cause him grief on the job. Bobb will play Joe Bebar, a veteran patrol officer, burned out and angry at a world that’s angry at him. Sommer will play Ray Kaluza, Joliet’s Chief of Police, who is struggling to steer his department through a crisis.
The cast so far consists of Eddie Kaye Thomas (American Dad!, The Beauty), Jess Gabor (School Spirits, Christy), Kelly Jenrette (Grey’s Anatomy, Circle Round), Onye Eme-Akwari (The Good Doctor, First Shift), Milo Ventimiglia (I’ve Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario, I Can Only Imagine 2), and Carlito Olivero (The Lincoln Lawyer, Wonder Man). Jeremy Carver (Dead Boy Detectives, Doom Patrol) will serve as the showrunner and executive producer of the series, along with Brian Udovich (We’re All Gonna Die, Only the Good Survive), Neil Reynolds (The ‘Burbs, You), and David Ayer (A Working Man, Bosco).
There has been no trailer so far for the series, so we will have to keep our eyes peeled in the future.
