HBO Max reveals cast and first look for upcoming spring animated series titled CLONE HIGH. On March 24, 2023, at WonderCon, two stars of the upcoming animated series, along with executive producers Erica Rivinoja (Trolls, The Last Man on Earth), Chris Miller (Shrek, Antz), and Erik Durbin (American Dad!, Sirens), revealed an exclusive first look at the show and participated in moderated Q&A panel, according to an HBO Max press release.
The upcoming animated series, referred to as a “present-day revamp” of the 2002 show, takes place in a high school where historical figures’ clones attend. The original high school had operated as a covert military experiment to clone the world’s greatest geniuses, but it was suspended. The clones, along with new classmates, are now being reawakened two decades later to continue the experiment while also coping with a new set of teenage challenges and relationships, according to Deadline.
The returning cast includes Nicole Sullivan (MADtv, Superhero Movie) portraying Joan and Will Forte (MacGruber, Nebraska) portraying Abe, executive producers Miller portraying JFK and Mr. B, and Phil Lord (The Lego Movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) portraying Scudworth, Donald Faison (King’s Ransom, Scrubs) portraying George Washington Carver, Judah Miller (Playing House, Crashing) portraying Scangrade, and Christa Miller (Scrubs, The Drew Carey Show) portraying Candide Sampson.
Also new to the cast includes Mo Gaffney (That ’70s Show, Mad About You) portraying Ms. Grumbles, Neil Casey (Ghostbusters, Baking It) portraying Topher Bus, Steve Kerr (Thunderstruck, NBA on NBC) portraying himself, Al Madrigal (Night School, Physical) portraying Frederico, Jana Schmieding (Blast, Rutherford) portraying Sacagawea, Mandy Moore (Tangled, A Walk to Remember) portraying herself, and Kyle Lau (Fresh Off the Boat, White Now Please), Danielle Schneider (Step Brothers, The Hotwives of Orlando), Jeffrey Muller (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Westworld), and Dannah Phirman (WordGirl, Mass Effect 2).
