

According to a press release by HBO Max, the streamer has released the first official trailer for the second season of medical drama THE PITT. The series will premiere its second season in January 2026. The logline reads as follows: “THE PITT is a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh.” The new season will take place on the Fourth of July, which is also the first day back for Dr. Langdon after he returns from his inpatient rehab program. Robby ordered Langdon to attend rehab due to his drug problem in the first season.

As per the press release, the cast of the critically acclaimed series, which has garnered 13 Emmy nominations, cast includes Noah Wyle (Donnie Darko, A Few Good Men) as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch , Sepideh Moafi (The Killing of Two Lovers, The L Word: Generation Q) as Dr. Al-Hashimi, Patrick Ball (Law & Order) as Dr. Langdon, Supriya Ganesh (Spoiler Alert, Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game) as Dr. Mohan, Fiona Dourif (The Blacklist, When We Rise) as Dr. McKay, Taylor Dearden (Breaking Bad, Invincible: Atom Eve) as Dr. King, Isa Briones (Goosebumps, American Crime Story) as Dr. Santos, Gerran Howell (Ludwig, Out There) as Whitaker, Shabana Azeez (Metro Sexual, Blood Sisters) as Javadi and Katherine LaNasa (The Campaign, Truth Be Told) as Dana Evans. In addition to starring on the new season, Wyle is stepping behind the camera and will direct an episode.
According to a press release, the series is produced by John Wells (Animal Kingdom, Shameless) Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, where JWP is under an overall deal. R. Scott Gemmill (Green Day: Know Your Enemy, Women’s Murder Club) created the series and serves as an executive producer alongside Emmy winner Wells, Wyle, Michael Hissrich (My Own Worst Enemy, The West Wing), JWP’s Erin Jontow (Maid, Emperor of Ocean Park) and Simran Baidwan (Ordinary Joe, The Good Doctor).
