The new Warner Media streaming platform HBO Max has released the first three episodes of its series Doom Patrol, according to ComicBook.Com. The DC superhero series is set to debut its second season on the new streaming service on June 25 after its first season premiered and featured exclusively on DC Universe in February 2019. However, in preparation for the comic book series’ second season, these first three episodes of season one will be made available for free to non-HBO Max subscribers. Developed by Jeremy Carver (Supernatural, Being Human), the show is executive produced by the likes of Geoff Johns (The Flash, Stargirl), Greg Berlanti (Dawson’s Creek, You, Love, Simon) and his Berlanti Productions, and Carver himself.

Doom Patrol centers on characters from the superhero team under the same name in the DC Universe. This collection of superheroes were recipients of their powers from tragic events before being discovered and housed by a doctor that goes by the name of the Chief. In the series, the show introduces members of the titular group which includes Jane, who possesses 64 personalities, Rita Farr, a shape-shifting former actress, Larry Trainor, a radioactive ex-Air Force pilot, Cliff Steele, an ex-NASCAR driver and current cyborg, and Victor Stone, the recipient of cybernetic components following a deadly accident which was the cause of his mother’s death. Additionally, the show also introduces Mr. Nobody as its reality-bending supervillain that pits himself against the Doom Patrol. The cast includes Diane Guerrero (Jane the Virgin, Orange is the New Black) as Jane, April Bowlby (Titans, Two and a Half Men) as Farr, Matt Bomer (White Collar, The Normal Heart) as Larry Trainor, Brendan Fraser (Crash, The Affair) as Cliff Steele, Joivan Wade (Doctor Who, Youngers) as Victor Stone, Timothy Dalton (Hot Fuzz, Licence to Kill) as The Chief, and Alan Tudyk (Firefly, Suburgatory) as Mr. Nobody.
Currently, Doom Patrol’s season two will consist of 9 episodes on June 25 on HBO Max. The Warner Media streaming platform is set at $14.99 (USD) per month for new subscribers. Check out the season two trailer below:
