HBO Max has released its official trailer for the upcoming Gossip Girl reboot, featuring an all-new cast of rich, privileged characters, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Gossip Girl is getting a reboot nine years after its cancellation.
While the trailer does not indicate anything substantial about the plot, one can infer that it will be just as, if not more scandalous than its predecessor. While featuring a new cast than the 2007 CW series, it is set in the same wealthy and elitist New York high school. Contrastly though, “Gossip Girl” seems to have taken form in a top-secret Instagram account, rather than a website, as in the original. The 2007 series starred Black Lively (Shallows), Leighton Meester (Monte Carlo), Peen Badgley (You), Chase Crawford (The Boys), Ed Westwick (White Gold), Taylor Momsen (How the Grinch Stole Christmas), and Kristen Bell (The Good Place).
The new cast in the reboot, as shown in the trailer, includes Eli Brown (The F**k-It List), Thomas Doherty (Descendents), Emily Alyn Lind (The Babysitter), Evan Mock in his debut role, Zion Moreno (Control Z), and Savannah Lee Smith in her debut role. The new series will debut on July 8 on HBO Max. The trailer can be watched below.
