HBO Max just released a short video that includes short scenes from the trailers of the new shows and the new seasons coming in 2023. The Last of Us, Gilded Age, Harley Quinn, Velma, Succession, and many others are shown in the short video.
The platform recently released a trailer for their most expected series for 2023, The Last of Us. The new show is being adapted from the video game of the same name. It occurs in the near future when a mysterious sickness causes people to become zombies. In this new reality, Joel takes on the job of taking Ellie to a group of researchers looking for a cure. The cast is composed of Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian, Game of Thrones) who will be playing Joel Miller, Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones, Catherine Called Birdy) who will be starring as Ellie Williams, and Gabriel Luna (Eddie & Sunny, Terminator: Dark Fate) will play Tommy Miller. The game is a fan-favorite among video game fans and the adaptation has been long awaited.
Another new series coming to HBO Max in 2023 is The Idol, a show that follows a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult. Jocelyn played by Lily-Rose Depp (The King, Silent Night), starts a complicated relationship with a rising pop idol, Tedros, played by real-life superstar The Weekend. Other cast members include internet sensation Troye Sivan (Boy Erased, Three Months) and Schitt’s Creek alum Dan Levy (Happiest Season, Sex Education).
White House Plumbers is a new limited series coming to HBO Max in 2023. The show follows the true story of how Nixon’s political saboteurs and Watergate masterminds accidentally toppled the presidency they were trying to protect. The show stars Woody Harrelson (Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Triangle of Sadness) starring as E. Howard Hunt and Justin Theroux (The Mosquito Coast, False Positive) as G. Gordon Liddy.
Another limited series coming next year to the platform is Full Circle. The show follows an investigation into a clumsy kidnapping that uncovers long-held secrets that connect to multiple characters and cultures in present-day New York City. The show stars Gerald Jones (Vampires vs. the Bronx) as Louis, newcomer Lucian Zanes as Nicky, Suzanne Savoy (For Life, Keeping Company) stars as Kristin McCusker, and Jarod Lindsey (The Quest, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin) as Len.
