HBO Max and DC Comics Reveal New Original Digital Comic Series

The new Warner Media streaming platform HBO Max has announced that it will be producing a new digital comic book series alongside DC Comics entitled To The Max. This upcoming comic book series will introduce mainstream audiences to the superhero Max the Dog in his efforts to help regular individuals, three people at the time of its release in particular, achieve their dreams and goals by turning them into real-life superheroes. The digital comic book series for DC Comics launched on June 15 and it is available for free download in three different 8-page editions following the three everyday people, Hector, Brian, and Olivia, or HBO in short. The goal behind this collaboration is to show that everyone, just like HBO, can take life to the max through the stories and events of these three characters and Max the Dog. 

Chairman of Warner Media Entertainment and Direct-To-Consumer Robert Greenblatt elaborated on the partnership between their streaming platform and the comic book giant by stating that they are “thrilled to partner with the amazing team at DC” as they are prepared to present “fun, original stories [that] depict a diverse range of ordinary individuals who are symbolic of the depth and breadth of programming that is available on the platform,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

To The Max digital comic book series introduced its three editions, To The Max: Hector, To The Max: Brian, and To the Max: Olivia. The digital comics will follow schoolteacher Hector, scuba instructor Brian, and stand-up comic Olivia pursue their dreams and become heroes in their hometowns by turning into these superheroes. Digital retailers of the digital comic book series include the likes of DCComics.comApple iBookstore, Google Play Store, Hoopla, OverDrive, Barnes and Noble’s Nook, and ComiXology. HBO Max is a streaming service that launched May 27 of 2020 and includes over 10,000 hours of content in addition to being only offered for $14.99 per month.
