Spoilers Ahead!
The Emmy winning HBO series Euphoria will return for two special episodes, with the first debuting on Sunday, December 6 at 9:00 pm. ET, according to an HBO press release. Receiving three Primetime Emmy Awards last month, Euphoria follows Rue Bennett, played by Zendaya (The Greatest Showman, Spider-Man, Homecoming), a teenage drug addict who leaves rehab with plans to continue her addiction. The series also features her fellow classmates and their struggles, including a transgender girl searching for her place named Jules Vaughn, played by Hunter Schafer in her debut role, and a jock named Nate Jacobs, played by Jacob Elordi (The Kissing Booth). The show’s first season debuted in 2019.
Following the events of last season’s finale where Rue was left at the train station by Jules and begins to relapse, the first special episode, entitled “Trouble Don’t Last Always,” will surround Rue as she celebrates Christmas. Alongside Zendaya, Schafer, and Elordi, Euphoria also stars Barbie Ferreira (New York Minute), Sydney Sweeney (Everything Sucks), and Alexa Demie (Waves). The series received three Primetime Emmy Awards last month, including Outstanding Lead Actress awarded to Zendaya, Outstanding Contemporary Makeup, and Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics. Both specials will air on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.
