Following the release of HBO drama Euphoria‘s special episode entitled “Trouble Don’t Last Always,” the network announced the next special entitled “F*ck Anyone Who’s Not A Sea Blob,” according to Variety. The first special episode launched on December 4 on HBO Max and December 6 on HBO proper while the upcoming special is slated to air on January 24.
The Emmy award-winning drama starring Zendaya (The Greatest Showman, Shake it Up) follows 17-year old Rue Bennett, played by Zendaya, from her release from rehab due to a crippling drug addiction through her struggles to stay clean and a complex love story with her best friend, Jules Vaughn, played by Hunter Schafer. The debut special episode picks up following the events of season one, where Jules leaves Rue on a train as Rue begins to relapse. On Christmas Eve, Rue and her sponsor, Ali, played by Colman Domingo (The Walking Dead), sit in a diner and discuss her motivation behind the aforementioned relapse. In the hour long episode, Rue examines her struggle with addiction and depression as Ali desperately works to help her realize the significance of her life.
The upcoming special, starring Schafer, will surround Jules during the Christmas holiday while she reflects on the year that’s passed. Both episodes were shot under strict COVID-19 guidelines, however, it is still unknown whether the next special episode will take the same route as the episode that preceded it.
