As announced by the official HBO press release early this morning, January 8th, HBO will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the original series The Sopranos with “Never-Before-Released Footage, Expanded Access To 5 Hours Of Additional Content, Fan Activations, And More.” Content related to the series’ 25th-anniversary celebration will be coming to MAX, HBO’s YouTube channel, all major podcast platforms, and TikTok. Unique fan experiences will also be available at multiple Los Angeles and New York City locations.
Fifteen deleted scenes, three never-before-seen deleted scenes, and extensive behind-the-scenes content are currently accessible exclusively on MAX as of January 8th, in addition to all six seasons of the series.
On top of the new content on MAX, select episodes of The Sopranos will become available to select cable partners’ free on-demand platforms. The first two episodes will also be free on HBO’s YouTube channel.
According to the official press release, 25-second montages of each series episode will be released on TikTok by the official account:@thesopranos. The project is titled “Sopranos in 25.”
Special events and fan experiences also occur in Los Angeles and New York City locations. From January 11th through February 4th, a special Sopranos-themed menu will be served at Da Nico, a famous Italian restaurant in New York City, in honor of the 25th anniversary. Through a collaboration with Postmates, the official Satriale pop-up delivery exclusive service in New York City and Los Angeles will be accessible through the delivery app.
Robert Iler(The Sopranos, Daredevil, Tadpole) and Jamie-Lynn Sigler(The Sopranos, Call Me: The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss 2004, Entourage) will release a special edition of their podcast for the Anniversary on January 18th.
Other parts of the celebration include screenings of the first episode, appearances made by the cast, and special edition merchandise.
