Last years ‘Tattoo Royale’ with the One Direction boys on The Late Late Show With James Corden seems to have left a real imprint on Harry Styles. Now, the former One Direction band member has asked to crash in James Corden’s Late Late Night studio.
“I need to ask a favor,” Styles can be seen asking Corden in a Skype video released via YouTube. “I’m coming to LA soon, and I need a place to stay.” The CBS late-night talk show host agreed to Styles request, and made the announcement of his residency on Tuesday, with the hash tag trending #LateLateStyles.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Styles will make his nightly debut on Monday, May 15 and perform one song from his new solo album each night through Thursday, May 18. His self titled solo album will be released on May 12. The former boy band singer will also join Corden in multiple segments throughout the week.
Styles has appeared on the Late Late Show a few times, most notably an appearance in December of 2015 with his other One Direction band members competing in a game of ‘Tattoo Royale’, in which Styles lost and was branded with the show’s logo on his arm.
The English singer-songwriter recently performed two songs from his new album on Saturday Night Live, and will make his acting debut in Christopher Nolan’s new war film Dunkirk, out this July.
One Direction was formed on the British reality television competition show The X Factor, where Simon Cowell (American Idol) signed the five boys to a $2 million record deal through Syco Records. The band released five albums before Styles made an announcement he was leaving the act in 2016 to pursue individual projects, Billboard previously reported.
The Late Late Show airs nightly at 12:37 a.m. ET/PT.
