Netflix has unveiled the trailer for Harlan Coben’s highly anticipated new series, Missing You, building excitement for the latest adaptation from the bestselling author.
According to Deadline, following the breakout success of Fool Me Once—the streamer’s most-watched series during the first half of the year—Missing You boasts a stellar cast led by Slow Horses star Rosalind Eleazar, alongside Ashley Walters (Speed Racer, Top Boy), Lenny Henry (The Fosters, Tiswas) and frequent Coben collaborator Richard Armitage (North & South, Robin Hood).
The story revolves around Kat Donovan (Eleazar), a detective specializing in missing persons. Eleven years after the mysterious disappearance of her fiancé Josh, Kat’s life is thrown into chaos when she stumbles upon his profile on a dating app. The series also features Steve Pemberton (The League of Gentlemen), Jessica Plummer (EastEnders), Mary Malone (Doctor Who), Lisa Faulkner (Murder in Suburbia), and James Nesbitt (Bloodlands).
Produced by ITV Studios-backed Quay Street Productions, Missing You continues Coben’s partnership with Netflix under his extensive deal with the platform. Like other adaptations of his work, the series transplants the original U.S. setting to the UK, with filming taking place in Manchester and the surrounding areas.
Following Fool Me Once, Netflix greenlit both Missing You and Run Away, making them the ninth and tenth projects from Coben’s collaboration with the streaming giant.
The series is executive produced by Coben, Nicola Shindler (It’s a Sin), Richard Fee (Prey), Victoria Asare-Archer (Death in Paradise), and Danny Brocklehurst (Brassic). Asare-Archer also serves as the lead writer, with Nimer Rashed (Miss Scarlett & the Duke) and Isher Sahota (The Effects of Lying) directing and Guy Hescott (Third Row Centre) producing.
