David Harbour (Stranger Things) expresses his enthusiasm for bringing his character, Eric Frankenstein, from the recently released animated series Creature Commandos to real life. According to Screenrant, the plot of the series follows the unexpected team-up of The Bride of Frankenstein, voiced by Indira Varma (Dragon Age: Inquisition), Nina Mazursky, voiced by Zoë Chao (Downhill), Dr. Phosphorus, voiced by Alan Tudyk (Resident Alien), G.I. Robot and The Weasel, voiced by Sean Gunn (Marvel’s What…?), who follows Rick Flag Sr., voiced by Frank Grillo (Werewolves) into a secret and dangerous mission.
In an interview with Screenrant, Harbour explained, “I do think it’d be super fun. We talked about it casually. There’s nothing planned, but I talked to him a little bit about the realities of what that would look like in terms of CG or practical effects, and he had all kinds of different thoughts and ideas.”
He continued his statement about his patience with the progress of a potential crossover, “But I think they’re still building their universe, and that’s fun. As they build it, I think they’re gonna see what people like or what works, and that’s gonna be a component to what they go forward with. But it is such a fun idea to have, like, Batman run into an angry Frankenstein, or Superman, or whatever! It’s just fun that all these characters exist in the same universe, and who knows where they’d end up? It’d be kind of cool.”
While there are currently no official plans for a live-action Creature Commandos project, Harbour’s interest in the role has sparked speculation among fans. Whether the project will become a reality, one thing is for sure: Harbour’s portrayal of this character will be a highlight. According to Screenrant, the first two episodes of the series are available to stream on Max, with new ones released every Thursday.
