Hakeem Kae-Kazim Lands Role in CW’s ‘Dynasty’

Hakeem Kae-Kazim has landed a role in the CW series Dynasty and will be playing the character of Cesil Colby. Variety reports that Kae-Kazim will play the father of Jeff Colby, played by Sam Adegoke, and will be a part of the wealthy Colby clan.

A modern-day take on the 1980s classic, Dynasty follows the lives of the feuding Carringtons and Colbys, who are two of America’s wealthiest families. The new version is made to be a younger and sexier version of the original family drama series.

Kae-Kazim is known for his roles in Hotel RwandaX-MenPirates of the Caribbean, and Starz’s Black Sails. Variety notes that Kae-Kazim’s new role in Dynasty is quite different from his role as Zeus in the upcoming gods and mortals epic Troy, which is set to appear on Netflix and BBC. Kae-Kazim is also set to appear in the upcoming film Serenity with Anne Hathaway and Matthew McConaughey, and action movie 24 Hours to Live with Ethan Hawke.

He will star in episode 9 of Dynasty alongside Elizabeth Gillies, Nathalie Kelley, Robert Christopher Riley, James Mackay, and Rafael de la Fuente. Creators of the original series Esther and Richard Shapiro are among the executive producers. CBS Television Studios produces Dynasty in association with Fake Empire.

Dynasty was picked up for a full season at the CW earlier this month. The full season order came after the show had a decent ratings run across four episodes, which premiered in October on the network.
