

According to a press release from The Max Original the award-winning Max Original comedy Hacks is gearing up for an exciting fourth season with a lineup of fresh talent joining the cast. The series, which recently earned a 2024 Emmy, Golden Globe, and Critics Choice Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series says The Max Original. The show has also announced several new guest stars, including Julianne Nicholson (August: Osage County, Blonde), Michaela Watkins (Casual, Trophy wife), Bresha Webb (Run the World, A Million Little Things), Robby Hoffman (Workin’ Moms, I’m Nervous) , and Eric Balfour ( The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Rise of the Gargoyles). Fans and audiences can expect the highly anticipated new season to premiere this spring per The Max Original.
Alongside these additions, The Max Original says that the show will introduce a group of guest stars who will portray writers on Deborah Vance’s new late-night show which is played by Jean Smart (Youth in Revolt, Barry Munday). This ensemble includes Danny Jolles (Ted, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Gavin Matts (Progression, Ramy), Grover Whitmore III (The African Desperate, Tiny Cinema) ,Holmes (Welcome to Flatch, Overcompensating), Jasmine Ashanti (Shameless, The Good Doctor), Katy Sullivan (Dexter: New Blood, Richard III) , Matt Oberg (Sisters, The Bourne Legacy), and Sandy Honig (Three Busy Debras, Pennies from Heaven) says The Max Original.
The upcoming season will follow Deborah and Ava who is played by Hannah Einbinder (Hacks). The official longline is as follows: “Tensions rise as Deborah and Ava endeavor to get their late night show off the ground and make history doing it.”
Per The Max Original returning to their roles are Smart, Einbinder, and three-time Emmy winner Paul W. Downs (Broad City, Rough Night). They are joined by Megan Stalter (Cora Bora, Too Much), Carl Clemons-Hopkins (The Beanie Bubble, Candyman) , Mark Indelicato (Ugly Betty, White Bird in a Blizzard), and Rose Abdoo (Grey’s Anatomy, Yellow Day), along with other familiar faces such as Dan Bucatinsky. (All Over the Guy, Web Therapy), Helen Hunt (As Good as It Gets, Pay It Forward), Tony Goldwyn (Scandal, Tarzan), and Kaitlin Olson (Finding Dory, Destiny).
The Max Original also mentions that behind the scenes, Hacks is helmed by Emmy winners Downs, Lucia Aniello (Rough Night, Time Traveling Bong), and Jen Statsky (The Good Place, Broad City). The series is produced by Universal Television, with executive producers including Michael Schur (The Office, Parks and Recreation), David Miner (30 Rock, Brooklyn Nine-Nine), and Morgan Sackett (The Good Place, Veep).
