Guy Ritchie’s ‘The Gentlemen’ Series Renewed For Season 2

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Guy Ritchie’s (Snatch, The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare) The Gentlemen Netflix series has been renewed for a second season. The series is a spinoff of Ritchie’s 2019 film of the same name.

The series stars Theo James (Divergent, The White Lotus) as Eddie Horniman, a man who suddenly inherits the Dukedom of Halstead, a large country estate, and a giant illegal weed farm. The series follows Horniman as he enters into the uncertain and dangerous world of gangs and gangsters, a world where he has to prepare for an attack from the front and a knife from the back. The series also stars Kaya Scodelario (Skins, The Maze Runner), Ray Winstone (Damsel, Beowulf), and Daniel Ings (Lovesick, Sex Education).

The series’ IMDB description reads “When aristocratic Eddie inherits the family estate, he discovers that it’s home to a huge weed empire, and its proprietors aren’t going anywhere.”

In an interview with Netflix’s Tudum site, James spoke of his character’s evolving relationship with his partner in crime Susie, played by Scodelario. “I think they’ve grown to love each other in their own way, but I think they’ll never fully trust each other because they are so different and they’re from such vastly different worlds. There’s a love between them, but ultimately they will never be from the same cloth.”

The series currently holds a 74% critic score and an 87% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. The series also stars Joely Richardson (The Patriot, 101 Dalmations), Vinnie Jones (The Midnight Meat Train, Mean Machine), Harry Goodwins (journey To Hell, Angels Vs. Bullies), Logan Dean (Valiant, Derren Brown presents Twisted Tales), Chanel Cresswell (Trolled, This Is England), Alexis Rodney (The piper, Censor Of Dreams), Ray Winstone (Sexy Beast, Scum), and Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, The Mandalorian).

Filming is expected to begin in 2025.
