‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Show Adds Henry Winkler and Raven-Symone

Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! will add a few names to its roster when it returns to the small screen. Henry Winkler, Raven-Symone and Ming-Na Wen will lend their voices to the 3rd season of the animated show.

Sharing it’s name with the new Disney ride, Guardians will pick up after their arrest of Thanos but will face new challenges after they are framed by The Collector. Teasers note they will go undercover with the Nova Corps and visit brand new universes.

Senior vice president of animation and family entertainment for Marvel, Cort Lane spoke recently to the connections between the show, movies and the ride. “I love the ride, love the story of the ride, and since we knew and were involved in the development to some extent, we could incorporate Tivan’s collection and the Guardians’ escape,” he noted, “But the Collector wants revenge and they pay a price, and particularly mid-season, they’re up against the wall. But before that happens, a lot of fun and interesting things occur for the Guardians.”

This season’s guest stars all have diverse acting careers with one particular link to Marvel. Henry Winkler played The Fonz on Happy Days for years while Raven-Symone enjoyed her early career on The Disney Channel. Finally, in Na-Wen is best known in recent years for her part on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Season 3 premieres on Disney XD March 18.
