Ground Floor will return after TBS renewed the series for a second season.
TBS ordered 10 episodes for the second season, which is set to start in late 2014. The series comes from Bill Lawrence (Cougar Town, Scrubs, Clone High) and Greg Malins (2 Broke Girls, How I Met Your Mother). It stars Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect), Briga Heelan (Cougar Town) and John C. McGinley (Scrubs). Executive producers on the show are Lawrence, Jeff Ingold (Surving Jack, Undateable) and Jeff Astrog (The New Adventures of Old Christine). Lawerence’s production company Doozer produces the series for TBS.
Ground Floor centers on the modern world of corporate America. It stars Brody (Astin), an investment banker who has a one-night stand with Jennifer (Heelan). He comes to find out that she works for the maintenance department in the building his investment bank – Remington Trust – is located. It is a corporate twist on Romeo & Juliet when both worlds begin to collide.
Ground Floor ranked as one of basic cable’s Top 10 original sitcoms for 2013 with adults 18-49. The first season averaged 1.8 million viewers, 1.1 million in adults 18-49 and 575,00 in adults 18-34.
