Members of the cast of ABC’s ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ stood on picket lines Friday in solidarity for the actors strike, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Actors who portray first responders on screen were highlighted at the picket in front of Warner Bros.
This includes firefighters, police officers, paramedics, animal rescue workers and ER doctors.
Kim Raver (Bones, Station 19), who portrays Dr. Teddy Altman on the show, shared her highlights of the picket line on Instagram. Many other of her co-stars can be seen in the video such as Chandra Wilson (Frankie & Alice, Philadelphia), who plays Miranda Bailey, British actress Camilla Luddington (Californication, True Blood) who portrays Jo Wilson, and Jason George (Eve, Sunset Beach) who plays Ben Warren, just to name a few.
“Proud to stand in solidarity on the picket line today with many of our Grey’s cast/crew family and fellow #SAGAFTRA Union members today in front of Warner Brothers!,” said Raver in her video caption via Hollywood Reporter, “A special shout out to @jasonwinstongeorge, thank you!!”
Sarah Drew, (Daria, In Plain Sight) who portrays Dr. April Kepner, also shared her moments at the picket line with a video and caption that reads, “We are out and we aren’t backing down!”
Another member of the show, Kelly McCreary (Station 19, Ollie’s Pack), who plays Dr. Maggie Pierce, shared a picture from the line via Instagram captioned, “We out here. #sagaftrastrong #wgastrong.”
According to the Hollywood Reporter, SAG-AFTRA wrote on X (previously Twitter) that this picket in particular took place to “salute Hollywood’s Bravest and Finest” and honor “the heroes who inspire our screens and the ones who bring them to life.”
Last week, SAG-AFTRA reestablished negotiations with the AMPTP, the organization that assists them in negotiating contracts with their studios and content distributors.
This will be the first time this has occurred since the strike started back in July. They are set to begin the discussion again this Monday.
