According to Variety, The national anti ICE shutdown effected some production companies. The ABC drama Grey’s Anatomy is one production that the producers elected to paused. This is in response to from the ICE raids that started in Mineapolis than a string of killings by federal agents. Many organizations are endorsing a a no school, no work , no shopping to stop Funding ICE.
Variety noted that inside sources confirmed to Variety that the crew’s planning not to show up on Friday prompted the producers of the medical drama Grey’s Anatomy to postpone the production for today, but they will resume production on Saturday.
Reported by Variety, the nation wide protests were circulating various social media platforms. Including celebrities such as, Ariana Grande (American Horror Story, Wicked: for Good) and Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian, The Last Of Us) were among celebrities sharing information with their followers. Other celebrities to have spoken out against the violence are: Billie Eilish (La Grande Semaine, Pop Songs World 2020), Olivia Wilde (The Candy House, the New World), Ed Norton (The Tiger, Sausage Party: Foodtopia) and Bruce Springsteen (Curb Your Enthusiasm, She Dont Love Me now). Interesting, Springsteen just released an album called, Streets of Minneapolis, about”King Trump’s private army.
Natalie Portman (lady in the Lake, Rob & Jack Lahana: Haute Saison) told Variety, “It’s really impossible not to talk about what is happening right now and the brutality of ICE and how it has to stop immediately. But also there’s a beautiful community that Americans are showing right not. They’re showing up for each other, protecting each other, and fighting for their freedom. It’s a bittersweet moment to celebrate something we’re so proud of on the backdrop of out nation in pain.” Portman stated this while promoting her movie, The Gallerist at the Sundance Film Festival.
