‘Gossip Girl’: Georgina Sparks Returns With A Surprise Regarding Dan and Serena

According to TVLine, the OG queen of mean made her long-anticipated return to Gossip Girl on today, but she did not come empty-handed. Georgina Sparks, played by Michelle Trachtenberg (Inspector Gadget, Harriet the Spy), brought significant intel on two of the original series’ major characters–Dan, played by Penn Badgley (You, Easy A), and Serena, played by Blake Lively (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, The Green Lantern). This will be the first major Gossip Girl star reprising their role, according to Elite Daily.

Trachtenberg’s Georgina Sparks made her majestic arrival into the reboot’s second season halfway through, but apparently she was calling the shots the whole season, according to Elite Daily. Georgina made her entrance and brought us right into Dan and Serena’s house after kidnapping Kate, played by Tavi Gevinson (Enough Said, Person to Person).

“This is Dan and Serena’s house. They fired their staff when they thought someone was breaking in. At first they thought it was the doorman, but when they kept coming home to this, they put up cameras everywhere,” explained Georgina, via TVLine. “I had my son loop the image, so now they’re bringing in a paranormal expert. They have no idea I’m their poltergeist. [I’ve been doing this for] five or six years. At first it was small annoyances — taking a sock or two, turning the heat down. But then I wanted a little more fun, like replacing the oat milk with full dairy. Their kid’s lactose intolerant. They’ve seen every specialist, and no one knows what’s wrong.”

Surprise, surprise. Dan and Serena have a Gossip Baby!

In addition, Georgina wasn’t the only character from the original Gossip Girl to make a reappearance this week. Nelly Yuki, played by Yin Chang (Prom, The Bling Ring), also made an appearance. Yuki’s Yin Chang is now the youngest deputy editor in the history of New York Magazine. Yuki also reappeared in the first season’s pilot of the HBO Max reboot.

Catch new episodes of Gossip Girl on Thursdays on HBO Max.
