There must be some sort of record Gordon Ramsay is setting out to accomplish here.
Variety reports that the man, the myth, the legend, Gordon Ramsay, is having two new series coming to ITV. After numerous shows both in America and his native England, Ramsay is setting out to diversify his resume once more.
One of these series is a documentary that will undoubtedly be showcasing the wonders of food. The show is not yet titled, but filming is expected to occur sometimes this year. Studio Ramsay is producing the series, and All3media International will handle the distribution.
The other series is a hybrid daytime show. Culinary Genius is expected to mix game and culinary show elements together as 9 amateur cooks compete for the title of Culinary Genius and a monetary prize. StudioRamsay is producing, and Ramsay himself will be in the first episode of the series (along with a differing costarring chef each week).
However, Ramsay is not expected to host full-time on Culinary Genius. But if you’re starved for more of the chef, he will be returning to ITV first as a guest host for The Nightly Show. That series is composed of a thirty minute format with notable names in food guest hosting each week.
Ramsay’s collaborations with ITV have stretched from their very first collaboration of Hell’s Kitchen. Ramsay issued a statement about the news, saying, “We’re reaching audiences on every level with this one, and I’m really excited to work on three completely different formats with ITV.”
Kevin Lygo, ITV’s director of television, also approved of the acquisitions: “Gordon is not only a world-class chef, but a world-class TV presenter. It’s a great thing to have him back where it all started, with some brand new shows. He’s an irrepressible talent and we are really looking forward to his return to ITV in 2017.”
