Golden Globes: Seth Rogen Wins Award For Best Male Actor In A TV Comedy For ‘The Studio’ After His Win Was Imagined In An Episode Titled “The Golden Globes”

Seth Rogen secured the 2026 Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his work in The Studio, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In a highly competitive category, Rogen triumphed over a star-studded field of nominees that included Adam Brody (Nobody Wants This), Steve Martin and Martin Short (Only Murders in the Building), Glen Powell (Chad Powers), and Jeremy Allen White (The Bear).

“This is so weird,” Rogen said to start his acceptance speech. “We just pretended to do this and now it’s happening.”

Rogen’s victory mirrors a specific plotline from “The Golden Globes,” the eighth episode of his Apple TV+ series released in May 2025. The Hollywood Reporter says in that episode, Rogen’s character, Matt Remick, attends the awards ceremony with his team at Continental Studios. The show meticulously recreated the atmosphere of the real-life event, focusing on Remick’s desire for public recognition, as directed by Zoe Kravitz (who appeared as herself). While Kravitz does win and attempts to thank the studio head in her speech, the microphone is cut off just as she mentions his name.

Ironically, Kravitz and Rogen’s close friend, Dave Franco, presented Rogen’s award on Sunday.

The plot for “The Golden Globes” was actually pulled from Seth Rogen’s own life. Rogen recalled an incident from early in his career where, after one of his films won an award, he discovered a studio executive crying at the afterparty. Rather than crying out of joy for the victory, the executive was distraught because they hadn’t been thanked during the acceptance speech, via The Hollywood Reporter.

At the real 2026 Golden Globes, this irony came full circle as Rogen himself accepted an award for the very show that satirized that behavior. The Hollywood Reporter says Rogen noted the “weird” sensation of seeing his fictional critiques of Hollywood ego play out in real-time.

The 2026 race for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical Series was dominated by familiar names. Jeremy Allen White, who secured the trophy in 2023, 2024, and 2025, returned as a nominee alongside perennial favorites like Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Adam Brody, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This year’s field also featured fresh competition from Ted Danson (A Man on the Inside) and Jason Segel (Shrinking).
