Nominations have been revealed for the 80th annual Golden Globe Awards, and winners will be announced on January 10 in an NBC live television broadcast from the Beverly Hilton hosted by Jerrod Carmichael, according to Deadline. The HFPA-backed Globes will return after year away due to questionable practices surrounding its governing and membership, which HFPA responded with by boosting the racial and ethnic diversity of their membership and starting a hotline to report malfeasance, via Deadline.
ABC’s Abbott Elementary leads with five nominations, including Best Comedy Series and a lead actress nom for Quinta Brunson (A Black Lady Sketch Show). The other nominations include supporting nominations for Tyler James Williams (Dear White People), Janelle James (The Final Straw), and Emmy-winner, Sheryl Lee Ralph (Moesha). Netflix’s The Crown and Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story follow with four nominations each along with Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building and Pam & Tommy, and HBO Max’s The White Lotus.
