Golden Globe Nominations Announced: ‘Big Little Lies’ Leads in Television

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced the nominees for the 75th annual Golden Globe Awards. HBO’s Big Little Lies lead the television categories with six nominations. On the film side, the top nominees are Three Billboards Outside EbbingMissouriThe Post; and Shape of Water, with each of them nominated for best motion picture in a drama.

FX’s Feud: Bette and Joan is second with four nominations that include best limited series, best performance by an actress for Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange, and best supporting actor for Alfred Molina. This is UsFargo, and The Handmaid’s Tale tie for third place with three nominations each.

NBC’s This is Us and Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale are both nominated for best drama series while FX’s Fargo is nominated for best limited series.

Surprises included new comedy SMILF, which is nominated for best comedy series and lead actress in a comedy series for Frankie Shaw. USA’s The Sinner grabbed some Golden Globe nominations including best limited series and best actress in a limited series for Jessica Biel while Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why receives a nod for lead actress in a television drama for Katherine Langford.
