After almost two years of speculation, Apple TV+’s Emmy-winning comedy, Ted Lasso, is officially returning for new season. According to an official press release, season four has been confirmed, with its star and executive producer, Jason Sudeikis (Saturday Night Live, We’re the Millers), returning to the beloved role of Coach Lasso. The feelgood series premiered in 202o, quickly earning and sustaining critical acclaim and a devoted fanbase.
“As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap, in season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be,” Sudeikis stated in the press release. This signature dose of optimism and faith is commonplace within the series which follows Sudeikis as a disgraced American football coach who finds redemption in becoming a failed soccer team’s last hope overseas.
The new season, which focuses on AFC Richmond’s women’s team, adds Jack Burditt (30 Rock, Nobody Wants This) as an executive producer with Jane Becker (Future Man, Harley Quinn), Brendan Hunt (Horrible Bosses 2, Key and Peele), Jamie Lee (Crashing, Plan B) and Bill Wrubel (Will & Grace, Sports Night). Series co-star Brett Goldstein (SuperBob, Shrinking) will write and executive produce along with Leanne Bowen (Dear White People, Stranded). Other writers include producers Phoebe Walsh (Life & Beth, They Never End), Sarah Walker (The Big Door Prize, Sirens), and co-producer Sasha Garron (The Power Within, Turnt). Series creator Bill Lawrence (Scrubs, Bad Monkey )will executive produce via his Doozer Productions in partnership with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television.
