It would seem that HBO’s Lanterns continues on breaking records, while simultaneously pleasing fans with its unique narrative. According to Screenrant, the series is getting reaction of one its own stars, Aaron Pierre (Old, Krypton), who plays John Stewart, a green lantern in training and working under Hal Jordan, played by Kyle Chandler (Bloodline, Anniversary), as the duo investigate murder mystery that slowly transformed into a cosmic conspiracy.
John found himself locked in a high-stakes confrontation with the final manhunter, Zoe Macon, portrayed by Poorna Jagannathan (The Night Of, Ramy). Sensing an opportunity, Macon attempted to manipulate John and weaponize him for her own agenda. John, reading her strategy instantly, feigned compliance to maintain the upper hand. He strategically leveraged the beaten corpse of Hal as irresistible bait, drawing Macon directly into a carefully orchestrated trap before striking swiftly to eliminate her and complete the job.
Stated by Screenrant, the latest episode was filled with many surprising moment starting with Hal buried unconscious underneath a pile of rubble in blood and dust, but awakens when John tries to pry it off his finger, and when he does, Hal ask ,” was it worth it?” John then went to the Guardian, Lianna played by Laura Linney (Ozark, Mystic River) talking about he trained his whole life to be worthy of the ring, but looking on how Hal has betrayed everything and forgot why he wanted the ring and John refused it as well.
Pierre goes on to speak in an interview with Screenrant’s Tatiana Hullender about he notice that fans love of the series,” rarely on the internet, but I do feel it outside of the context of the internet, and I feel an immense gratitude. Pierre goes into further detail and talking about,” There are so many artists who want to do what they do on the highest level, and they would do anything to do that. I am doing my craft on the highest level, I’m immensely grateful, and I plan to continue for a very long time.”
