Oh Puckerman, we wanted to believe in the good in you.
Glee’s Mark Salling, best known for six seasons as sexy, redeemed bad-boy Noah Puckerman on the Fox drama, was arrested on charges of possession of child pornography Tuesday. Variety reported that a team from LAPD ‘s Internet Crimes Against Children showed up at the actors home in Sunland, CA with a search warrant, then arrested the 33-year-old actor.
Few details about the nature of the charges are known but it’s not the first time Salling has dealt with the LAPD. He was arrested in January 2013 on charges of sexual battery and, after filing a countersuit alleging defamation, settled this year with his former girlfriend.
Salling has been working on low-budget production Adi Shanker’s Gods and Secrets alongside Denise Richards, Jane Seymour, and Twilight siblings Jackson Rathbone and Kellan Lutz. According to IMDb the TV movie looks at the darker side of a world with superheroes. Shanker, the director, has previously worked as an executive producer on 2012’s Dredd, and 2013’s Lone Survivor.
Salling broke into acting as a teen in 1996’s Children of the Corn IV, followed by sporadic work on Walker, Texas Ranger and 2006 horror movie The Graveyard. In 2008 his vocal and dance abilities earned him the role of Noah Puckerman, one of Glee’s student-singer-athletes and resident tough guy. The role, which highlighted issues like bullying, self-confidence, and friendship earned him Teen Choice Awards for Breakout Star, Male and Scene Stealer, Male.
Salling was previously repped by management at Full Circle Management and ICM, but both firms ended their relationship with the actor this fall. After his arrest his bail was set at $20,000 and he was released Tuesday afternoon.
