Once Upon a Time star Ginnifer Goodwin returns to network television with Fox’s comedy pilot Pivoting, according to Deadline. She will be co-leading the show, opposite to Eliza Coupe (Happy Endings). Tommy Dewey (The Mindy Project) also makes an appearance on the show.
Goodwin’s works spreads across many genres. She started out as sister wife on HBO’s Big Love, played Mary Margaret/Snow White on ABC’s Once Upon a Time and guest-starred in other major shows, such as an episode of The Twilight Zone. Goodwin continues to challenge herself by taking on her new role in Pivoting.
Pivoting follows three women as they cope with the death of their childhood friend Coleen. The women come to terms with the brevity of life and make impulsive decisions in an attempt to find happiness while mourning. In the process of making rash decisions, the bond between the women grows significantly stronger.
Yahoo Entertainment provides a more in-depth description on Goodwin’s role in particular: “Raised by an overprotective mother, Jodie is herself a parent of three, married to a suffocating husband who gives her no room to breathe and be herself. She finds the excitement, attention, and affection she craves in the form of an affair with her gym trainer.”
Pivoting is still in its early development stage, so it is uncertain if Goodwin will be actively present or make cameo appearances.
Written by Liz Astrof (2 Broke Girls), the half-hour, single-camera comedy is to be directed by Tristram Shapeero (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt).
