In the new series, Carmen Sandiego will delve into her personal history, answering the questions of why and how she became a talented thief.
Gina Rodriguez is most commonly known for her role on Jane the Virgin on CW (she’s even earned a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Jane Villanueva). In a touching twist, Rodriguez says that Rita Moreno, the actress who voiced Carmen Sandiego on the animated series from 1994 to 1999, was actually an idol of hers. Now she’ll be able to follow in her footsteps and create a new version of a once-beloved children series.
