DC Studios has finally released the first trailer for Anthony Bourdain and Joel Rose’s graphic novel adaptation Get Jiro, along with its premiere date. The Hollywood Reporter shared the graphic trailer and revealed that the upcoming series will premiere on Adult Swim on Oct. 3.

Get Jiro follows Jiro, voiced by Brian Tee (Chicago Med, Reacher), a mysterious sushi chef driven by revenge. The series is set in a near-future version of Los Angeles, where diners will kill for a coveted seat at the city’s most exclusive restaurants.
Get Jiro is based on a series of DC/Vertigo graphic novels of the same name written by the late chef Bourdain (Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations) and Rose (La Pacifica, New York Sawed in Half), and artwork by Langdon Foss and Alé Garza. These graphic novels were highly acclaimed and went on to make the New York Times best-selling list.
The TV series is developed by Brian Gatewood (Comrade Detective, Sharper) and Alessandro Tanaka (Comrade Detective, Sharper). The series is executive produced by Gatewood, Tanaka, Jordan Blum (M.O.D.O.K., Savage), and Sam Register (Teen Titans GO! Vs. Teen Titans, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi).
The cast includes Tee, Titus Welliver (Bosch, The Westies), Alison Pill (Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World, Trap), and Justin Kirk (Weeds, APB).
Adult Swim President Michael Ouweleen said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, “Like everything Bourdain did, this story starts with food and generously reaches out into all directions.”
The series is just one of the many ways Bourdain’s impact and work continues to influence film and television despite his 2018 death.
