Tristan Rogers, an Australian-born actor who played Robert Scorpio on ABC’s General Hospital, died last Friday at the age of 79, according to TVLine. The executive producer of General Hospital, Frank Valentini (One Life To Live, Kourtney & Kim Take New York), posted on his social media, “Tristan has captivated our fans for more than 50 years and Port Charles will not be the same without him. I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his entire family and friends during this difficult time. Tristan was a one-of -a kind talent and will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.”
Many more fellow actors followed Valentini and posted on their social media about Rodgers and their time on set with him. According to TVLine, Nancy Lee Grahn (Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest, Castle), who played Alexis on General Hospital, shared, “Suave, wry, smooth, debonair and ridiculously handsome. This GH Aussie Icon left his mark and will be well remembered. Sending love to his family, and just donated to go2.org in dear Tristan’s name.” His on-screen daughter, Kimberly McCullough (Vampirina: Teenage Vampire, Among Friends), posted a message stating, “Trissy forever,” with photos of her and the beloved actor.
According to TVLine, Rogers started his acting career in the 1970s in Australian soap operas such as Bellbird, Number 96, and The Box. It wasn’t until his role on General Hospital that Rogers got his big break, which lasted more than a decade. Rogers worked with prominent leading ladies such as Demi Moore (G.I. Jane, The Substance), Emma Samms (Brigantia, The Law of Moments), and Finola Hughes (Darling, Claude).
TVLine mentioned that Rogers had recurring roles on The Bold and the Beautiful in 1997. This role earned him a Daytime Emmy. Then in 2010, he played Colin Atkinson on The Young and the Restless. In July of 2025, Rogers shared his cancer diagnosis with his fans. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Parkerson, and two grown children.
