Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers for Gen V Season One, episodes seven and eight*.
Prime Video has released the trailer for the season 1 finale of the acclaimed spin-off, Gen V. The series first made its debut on September 29, 2023. The trailer shows Cate played by Maddie Phillips(Summerland) and Sam by Asa Germann(Dahmer) freeing the captive Supes to start a rebellion and march towards the University. According to Screenrant, the end of episode seven saw Cate kill Indira and Victoria Neuman assassinate Dr. Cardosa, effectively putting an end to the virus they were creating in the Woods. Additionally, though our heroes will have to be on their guard because they are unaware that Victoria Neunman played by Claudia Doumit(Timeless) has the virus.
According to Screenrant, “The deaths of Dean Shetty and Dr. Cardosa leave Gen V without a primary antagonist ahead of season 1’s final episode, and this completely blows open the narrative possibilities for how the spinoff’s story will end”. We also see from the trailer that Maria and her friends are coming up with a plan to combat Cate and Sam’s forces while protecting everyone inside the school. The Supes that we can expect to see in the finale besides Maria and Cate are Emma played by Lizzie Broadway(Henry Danger) and Jordan Li played by London Thor(Shameless)/Derek Luh(Hoodie). The finale is set to air on November 8, 2023, in the United States, and November 4 in the U.K.
Overall, The trailer for the Gen V season one finale is packed with action and suspense, and it raises a lot of questions about what is going to happen in the final episode of the season. The finale is sure to be bloody to match the style of Gen V. According to Screenrant, what seems clear, though, is that some of the core students will survive the upcoming fight since Gen V has already been renewed for season two.
