School is in session this fall as Prime Video readies the second season of The Boys spinoff, Gen V. A teaser trailer was released today at CCXP Mexico announcing the series returns on September 17. View the new spot below.
Gen V chronicles the lives of students at Godolkin University aka God U, the college exclusively for superheroes. Entering this new world is orphan Marie Moreau, whose powers are the cause of a traumatic past and the catalyst for a potentially prosperous future. Unfortunately, her dream of being the first Black heroine part of the Seven is dashed when she discovers a sinister secret about the institution and its connection to Vought Corporation.
Prime provides an official logline:
In Season Two, school is back in session. As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander’s iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss. But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus. The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it.
According to the Prime Video press release, returning stars include Jaz Sinclair (Slender Man, Paper Towns) as Marie, Lizze Broadway (The Inhabitant, Ghosted) as Emma Meyer, Maddie Phillips (Ghost Wars, Summerland) as Cate Dunlap, London Thor (Lady Bird, Shameless) as Jordan Li, Derek Luh (Shining Vale, Runaways) as Jordan Li, Asa Germann (Scream 7, Monsters) as Sam Riordan, and Sean Patrick Thomas (Cruel Intentions, Save the Last Dance) as Polarity.
New to the series is Batman: Caped Crusader’s Hamish Linklater as Dean Cipher.
Season two was delayed due to the unfortunate passing of Chance Perdomo, who played Andre Anderson, Thomas’ on-screen son. While the studio decided not to recast his character, the teaser alludes to a possible storyline involving Andre’s absence.

Additional EPs include The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke, The Studio’s Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg (This is the End, 50/50), James Weaver (Miller’s Girl, The Great Canadian Pottery Throw Down), Neal H. Moritz (S.W.A.T., Goosebumps), Pavun Shetty (Cruel Intentions, Happy!), Ken Levin (The Boys Presents: Diabolical, Random Acts of Violence).
