A major announcement by Lucasfilm has been revealed this year at Tokyo’s Makuhari Messe Convention Center for the Star Wars celebration.Throughout the weekend, panels featuring cast and crew from various projects offered engaging discussions and answered fan questions. The energy in the convention center was palpable, a testament to the unwavering passion for the Star Wars saga.
Season three of the animated series Star Wars:Visions, a spin-off series to The Ninth Jedi, and Darth Maul: Shadow Lord, were among the eagerly awaited projects showcased during the conference. The third season of Visions, which is scheduled for October 29, 2025 on Disney+, will consist of nine shorts animated by animation studios, such as Kinema Citrus and Production I.G. Some of the voice actors mentioned in the anime’s upcoming season will include Ami Maeshima (Komi Can’t Communicate,BanG Dream!), Yasuko Hatori (Konohana Kitan,Barakamon) and Takako Honda(Fairy Tail:100 Year Quest,Cyberpunk: Edgrunners).
The spin-off series will pick up where the Ninth Jedi episode left off, with Lah Kara, voiced by Kimiko Glenn (Hazbin Hotel, We Baby Bears), and her companions resuming their quest to save her father and safeguard the galaxy after defeating the Sith. On further news, the Darth Maul series, will showcase the former Sith Lord ,voiced by Sam Witwer (Dexter, The Mist) planning to rebuild his crime syndicate.
Last Saturday had some surprising guest appearances including Dave Filoni (Star Wars:Rebel, Star Wars:The Bad Batch), Jon Favreau (Iron Man, The Mandalorian), Rosario Dawson (Daredevil, Zookeeper), and Hayden Christensen (Jumper, Obi-Wan Kenobi), with new additions such as Ryan Gosling (The Fall Guy, Blade Runner 2049) being welcome as well.
With over 105,000 attendees showing up, it displays the impact that the iconic sci-fi franchise has had around the globe. Overall, the showcase from Lucasfilm for the Star Wars Celebration delivered thrilling waves of series for new and returning fans of the franchise.
