FXX Releases Season Eleven Premiere Date and Trailer for ‘Archer’

The long-running animated FX program Archer has released the first official trailer and premiere date for its upcoming eleventh season at Comic-Con @ Home, according to Deadline. Created by Adam Reed (Frisky Dingo, Sealab 2021), the animated series premiered on the network in 2009 and has run for ten seasons, amassing a total of 110 episodes. The series is executive produced by Reed, Casey Willis (The Xtacles), and Matt Thompson (High Noon Toons), and the upcoming season is to premiere on FXX on September 16 with next-day streaming options through FX on Hulu. This premiere date was delayed from May 6 due to production issues from the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. Archer’s eleventh season is set to consist of eight episodes in the 10 PM time slot with two episodes being released on the same day.

Archer is an adult animated television series that centers on the exploits of an often-corrupt, disorganized, and small intelligence agency run by Malory Archer. Malory’s son Sterling is the show’s main character who merges a James Bond personality with narcissistic overtones. Malory is voiced by Jessica Walter (Arrested Development) while Sterling is voiced by H. Jon Benjamin (Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy). Additional cast includes the likes of Judy Greer (13 Going on 30, Kidding) as Cheryl Tunt, Amber Nash (Frisky Dingo) as Pam Poovey, Aisha Tyler (Criminal Minds) as Lana Kane, Lucky Yates (Good Eats) as Dr. Algernop Krieger, Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live, Rick and Morty) as Cyril Figgis, and Reed himself as Ray Gillette. The animated show is also known for some of its seasons taking on new titles and new settings such as season five set in Miami and aptly titled Archer: Vice in addition to season eight’s Archer: Dreamland, season nine’s Archer: Danger Island, and season ten’s Archer: 1999

Season eleven of Archer follows the return of Sterling to the agency after waking up from a coma and relearning how to walk. Unlike the previous three seasons, it has not been announced whether or not this iteration will also carry a different title. For Archer and television fans, check out the trailer below:
