After the announcement made concerning the thirteenth season of the FXX series Archer earlier this month, the trailer for the new season has been released by FXX. The trailer confirms the premiere of the season will be on Wednesday, August 24th.
During the trailer, Sterling Archer, voiced by H. Jon Benjamin (Bobs Burger’s), is seen to be posing the question to himself, “why am I always the responsible one?” a few times throughout the trailer. According to the FXX trailer, season thirteen will follow The Agency portrayed in the series taken over by the International Intelligence Agency (IIA). Archer and his colleagues must try to maintain their independence while completing missions to avoid giving in to the IIA.
As seen in the FXX trailer, Archer himself is trying to become less of what Archer was portrayed as before, “the careful rule-respecting Archer.” Taking what is seen in the trailer, it can be inferred that this season Archer could take on a new approach as the leader of The Agency to try and defeat the IIA less traditionally. Archer’s new mindset is said to come from “mothers absence” according, to the FXX trailer. Continuing the trailer portrayed Lana Kane, who Aisha Tyler (Criminal Minds) voices, to be by Archer’s side this season and in the hopes of getting the job done swiftly, although she may not agree with Archer wanting not to be “the responsible one.”
The FXX trailer also gives the audience the notion that this season will be filled with ironic humor such as “Are we, like, flirting” when discussing fighting and “Oh, no, that’s my penis” when completing a helicopter mission. Providing the viewers with a laugh as they watch Archer’s adventures against the IIA.
To witness the rest of Archer’s journey, tune into FXX on Wednesday, August 24th to watch the season thirteen premiere of Archer.
